Immediate cooking Classes

Price: R3600.00 per person

This course includes in-depth organisational skills and menu planning as well as various cooking methods. Master areas of cooking that are often considered tricky and pick up some fabulous recipes along the way. In the Intermediate Cooking Course, you will gain a really good understanding and overview of each topic covered. Take the opportunity to ask all the questions you’ve always wanted to ask and try out our foolproof techniques for yourself. 

 After trying out the techniques, you get to eat the food cooked during the class (sufficient for a light meal). We are happy for students to pay for this course in up to three installments with the final payment made at least one week before the course starts.

Should any class whatsoever be unattended we unfortunately do not refund any amount and do not exchange one class for another.

A 50% deposit is due to secure your booking and the final payment is due 7 working days prior to your first lesson.

Recipes are designed according to fresh seasonal ingredients purchased daily from markets and food outlets and depending on what commodities are available, our menus are designed accordingly.

An outline of the Intermediate Cookery Course:

Day 1: Meat

You will learn which cuts of meat best suit a particular type of cooking.

You will learn how to make rack of lamb with gremolata, griddled steak, and beef meatballs in tomato sauce.

Day 4: Cake & Pastry

In this class, you will master the techniques needed to be able to make pastry.

You will make puff pastry, home-made pies OR pastries and will be shown how to make short crust pastry and bake a soft sponge cake.

Day 2: Bread

You will learn the key techniques needed to make beautiful bread.

Once you have been shown how to mix, knead, rise and prove your dough, you will be able to make a basic white bread/ pizza cinnamon buns, and scones.

Day 5: Poultry

Never overcook your poultry again! You will learn to how to spatchcock chicken, make a delicious chicken liver pate and how easy it is to roast the perfect chicken with sausage stuffing.

Day 3: Fish & Shellfish

Learn how to choose the freshest fish and prepare it for cooking. From grilling to poaching, to frying, you will learn how to master the various methods of cooking fish.

In this class, you will learn to make baked hake, grilled prawns, fish cakes and fisherman’s pie.
